Vintage 1934 18" Tag in Head Composition Ideal Shirley Temple Doll Wearing an NRA Tagged Blue "Stand Up and Cheer Dress. From the Doll Reference Site. The first Shirley Temple design, issued in early 1934, was called the "prototype doll" she had the characteristic of: -lower forehead -light paint color over entire body -no mark on the back of her head only a paper tag on the inside of the head marked Cop 1934 Ideal Novelty & Toy Co.

So pretty and hard to find, 1934 18" composition Ideal "Tag Head Shirley Temple Doll wearing her original tagged blue coin dot dress. Very nice condition body and pretty face.

She is all composition, jointed at the neck, shoulders and hips. She has renewed hazel sleep eyes with thick brush lashes. Hand painted upper eye line, lower lashes, multi-stroke eyebrows, light cheek blush, open smiling mouth showing six upper teeth and a dimple in each cheek. Her vintage mohair wig is in the original ringlet curls with the original hair bow. She will come with her stand, if you wish.

Original, working, renewed, sleep eyes with thick lashes. She can stand and pose. Perfect fingers and toes without any repairs or rebuilds. Light crazing and light age soil on her body. No chips, lifting or flaking paint. Dress is NRA tagged and has the attached slip, as the first dressed did. Still has the original waist ribbon although it is fragile and faded. Arm elastic is stretched out. Damage and some repairs in the back where the buttons and button holes are.

Also has some areas where the piping has pulled loose from the garment. Hair ribbon is original but faded and fragile.

One piece slip and undies close with a small safety pin and have severe rips in the crotch. Shoes are vintage oilcloth with front decorative buckle (one buckle missing), and working center snaps. Appear to be original Shirley Temple shoes.
