1930's IDEAL SHIRLEY TEMPLE COMPOSITION DOLL. This is a gorgeous 1930's composition Shirley Temple doll made by the USA firm of Ideal. She stands in height 18 and has clear makers marks on her. I suspect this doll at some time in her life may have had restoration as she barely has any crazing but I cannot be sure of this but if so it has been professionally done and very well as only enhances her. Her original eyes have some crackling as to be expected of these dolls as it is common to them but not too bad.

She retains her original eyelashes and has an open mouth with a row of top teeth and little dimples in her cheeks. Her wig is a quality Shirley Temple Wig from Global Dolls and made in 1999. Her 5 piece original composition body is in beautiful condition and she is strung well (stringing has been re-done). She does tend at times to tip her head to one side, another common problem of these dolls due to the roundness of their neck but it will hold straight if you pose her. She comes wearing non-original clothing consisting of a pink frock with a white heart design and lots of lace and ribbon. Underneath she wears a vintage satin white petticoat trimmed with lace, pink vintage undies, socks and shoes. She displays beautifully and a lovely example of these much loved dolls.
