Antique Composition 1930's Unmarked Shirley Temple Doll 17 Blue Sleep Eyes

  

The doll measures 17 tall. The head, arms and legs are jointed. The sleep eyes are blue and open and close easily. The wig is in good condition and still retains its original hair style.

I didn't loosen the wig to look for a mark, nor on the body below the clothing. I don't think the clothing or the shoes and socks have ever been off the doll. The hand painting on the face is unfaded.

One unusual feature about the face is that there are no eyebrows. The clothing, shoes and knee socks are in good condition, without rips, staining, or repairs. The vest may be on backwards. I'm not sure if the opening is meant to be on the front or the back of the doll.

I haven't found another example of this doll in the same outfit, nor with knee socks rather than ankle socks. The sole of the left shoe needs repair. There is some age crazing on the face, arms and upper legs.
