Late 1930s 18 Composition Ideal Make Up Shirley Temple Doll in School Dress

  

Beautiful Late (1938-39) 18 Composition Ideal Make Up Shirley Temple Doll in School Dress. Exceptional and gorgeous make up Shirley Temple Doll wearing her original size tagged School dress, oilcloth center snap shoes, socks and ribbon in her hair. Original wig set in the "older Shirley" style and instead of wearing a movie costume, she is wearing a good condition one piece red checkered jumper dress with attached blouse. It buttons in back with two buttons - like all Ideal dresses of the period, has the deep hem and remnants of a size tag sewn into the back seam.

All indications that this was her original dress. Underneath she has a white cotton slip and pair of undies. The slip has a stitched repair at the neck. Not sure these are original Ideal. Socks and shoes appear to be original.

Shoes are on the rough side but have original buckles, working center snaps and original (rough) soles. Blouse of dress, slip and undies have light age soil. 18 Shirley is all composition, jointed at the neck, shoulders and hips.

Her face paint is gorgeous and all original. She has renewed hazel sleep eyes with thick brush lashes - missing a few on left eye. Hand painted lower lashes, multi-stroke eyebrows, light grey eye shadow, bright cheek blush, open smiling mouth showing six upper teeth and a dimple in each cheek.

Her original mohair wig has a bald spot in back (see pics). Strung tightly - she can stand and pose. Very good fingers and toes with out repairs. Very light over all crazing.

Free of any cracks on her face. Her composition on her body is all original but has damage as follows: Considerable amount of chipping to the crotch area (pictured). Cracking up the side of one leg (pics).

A thin crack on the front of her neck. MARKED: SHIRLEY TEMPLE on her head and 18- on her back. Please read the description and examine the photos - both are an important part of the description. If unsure, ask questions or request more photos.
