Madame Alexander LITTLE COLONEL Composition doll 1935 23 inches tall

  
For your consideration is this beautiful "LITTLE COLONEL" full body Composition doll, by Madame Alexander. Ideal Toy company had the "rights" to use the name Shirley Temple for their dolls.

Madame Alexander named her dolls, "The Little Colonel". So, here is a wonderful example of her Little Colonel from 1935. This doll is from my Wife's collection. I will be listing more dolls from her collection as we go along.

I measure her between 23 and 24 inches tall. She is in lovely condition, in my opinion. The iris of her eyes have been replaced so they don't look "crazed". She is wearing a replaced onzie.

She is wearing her ORIGINAL TAGGED dress and original shoes and socks. I'm not certain about the hat, but it is from the period and looks just beautiful on her.

I just received information from a very nice EBayer and I was told that IS her ORIGINAL HAT and that she has the same one. In my opinion, her composition is in great condition with very minor marks, mostly at the joints. Her face paint is original and beautiful. Her little open mouth showing her teeth and tongue is precious.

If you enjoy these wonderful vintage, soon to be antique, dolls, this may be just the one for you. This type of doll in this great condition is very difficult to find. I like to give the "value" of the dolls when ever I can for our friends that do not have a value book. You will see my asking price is much lower.
