This is a very special piece! John Wright collector and has been for many years. John Wright himself signed the doll AND a photo! Very low number, #18, this has never been displayed.

Ive included photos with the box, showing it unopened, with todays date to validate it was just opened by me today so I could list it. A very special piece for the discerning collector! John Wright is excited to announce "Shirley Temple"® - as the newest addition to his exciting group of dolls based on the classic Stars of Old Hollywood! Two years later, she achieved international acclaim in Bright Eyes, a feature film designed specifically to showcase her talents.

She received a special Academy Award in 1935 for her outstanding contribution to motion pictures during 1934. Film hits such as Curly Top and Heidi followed year after year during the mid-to-late 1930s. Now, the most famous child star of all time has been brought to life by R. John Wright in the medium of molded felt.

Faithfully based on vintage images of the beloved star at the height of her fame, Shirley Temple stands 15 inches tall and is fully jointed at the neck, shoulders and hips with the RJW wooden ball & socket jointing system. She has a realistic molded felt torso and limbs and hands with individually-sewn fingers. Extensively researched for the utmost in authenticity, Shirley's meticulously-detailed costume includes period underwear made of natural cotton fabrics.

Her iconic "Sailboat" dress is tailored of the finest cotton poplin with an appliqued sailboat motif embellished with hand-embroidery. On her feet are dainty white socks and hand-cobbled replica leather shoes with tiny buckle closures. In the interests of accuracy and realism, the entire costume is completely removable. No detail has been spared to bring this legendary film personality vividly to life. John Wright Shirley Temple® doll will be produced in an extremely limited edition of just 100 numbered pieces worldwide. Each will come enclosed in a deluxe presentation box with the accompanying signed and numbered certificate of authenticity and the forms for owner registration.
