This lovely Shirley Temple doll is all composition and marked "18" "Shirley Temple" "COP" "Ideal" N&T (and something we can't make out) on the back of her head. She is also marked "Shirley Temple" on her upper back. Please see pictures for marks. She has working sleep eyes that appear to be glassine and may be crystalized with pupils painted on them? Please look at pics closely as it's difficult for us to know.
She has wonderful full eyelashes. It appears/we believe that her paint is all original and she has light crazing throughout. Other than her eyes we don't see any evidence of repairs or repaints to her composition. Her wig is probably not original and is not glued on. Her wig has a tag that says Cheris Collections.
It appears to be an older wig and it does have a hairnet over it (the hairnet creates shadows on the doll's face that appear as a crack -- but her face does NOT have a crack on it). The tag says the wig is made from acrylic materials.Shirley has all of her fingers, all of her left foot but she does have damage on her right foot. THE FRONT OF HER RIGHT FOOT IS BROKEN OFF AND MISSING - see pics. She has one small crack by her right shoulder (see pics) and some missing paint on her shoulders by/in her joints but other than that her composition is good with no cracking/lifting. Her stringing is loose so she requires a doll stand which will will include.
She has nicks in her paint, areas where it's rubbed off (like in her joints) and general small flaws commensurate with her age. Her dress is not original and is basically sewn on in places so we didn't want to rip it by taking it off completely. Her shoes and socks are not original and are a bit too large for her.
Please zoom in as pictures are part of the description. She is a very nice example of this early type of doll and would be great for a collector.
