When Shirley Temple made her first film, Ideal decided to make a doll of her. She was only marked Ideal as they didn't realise how popular Shirley would turn out to be. Little girls everywhere wanted one of the dolls so Ideal took out a patent on it. After that the doll was stamped Shirley Temple on her head and back. So this little doll is one of those original patent pending Shirley's. I think her dress is original because I've seen a picture online of her with same dress on. She has a little crack on her left dimple, one on the back of her head and a crack on her behind. Apart from this I can see no apparent flaws, maybe just some play wear and dusty hair.
